Step 9. Submitting the Claim

Now that the encounter has been approved. These claims will go into the Send Claims Bucket. 

This will be on the Billing tab -> Encounter (Pre-Claim) -> Send Claims button

Inside this screen, there are two options.

Electronic Claims

When changing the "Send Method" to Download (Does not send to clearinghouse) you will display a warning message.

Once the Submit Electronic Claims, these claims will go out through the clearinghouse (Office Ally).

Paper Claims

  • Blue - Exclude Background - You can chose to exclude the 1500 form background and print out the form in office
  • Green - Include documentation - Include the documentation to follow the claim when printing
  • NEW FEATURE! - Purple- Exclude Self Pay - Turning on this feature will exclude any claims with the Self Pay insurance to not generate for printing

Once your click the Generate Paper Claim PDF, it will appear lower on the page to download and Print:

In addition to submitting paper claims, HENO now allows you to fax the paper claims. 

The File Format includes the following:

  • Fax: Will download all claims in the Print 1500 bucket, merge into one .pdf and bring you to the outgoing fax page. The document will be saved in "Document 1" 
  • PDF: Will download all claims in the Print 1500 bucket, merge all claims into one .pdf to print as a bundle. 
  • Zip: Will download all claims in the Print 1500 bucket, each claim will be its own unique .pdf file
