Quick Reference Set Up Instructions for CardConnect in HENO

When you first log in, you will see the General Tab of HENO. You will want to use the arrow next to the Admin tab on the left to get the drop down on sub-categories:

Once your see the sub-categories, you will select Users:

Inside the User screen, you will click on the Edit Pencil 

Next to the user who will be setting up the machine in HENO. You can either click on the Privileges tab at the top or scroll down to the privilege area to add the Credit Card Privileges.

There are several new privileges for Credit Card processing.

  • Credit Card: CC Setup This is the privilege you will need to set up the machine in HENO
  • Credit Card: Charge Card Gives access to the user to charge a card
  • Credit Card: CC Reports Gives access to the reporting from the credit card machine
  • Credit Card: Void Transactions Will allow the user to void the charge (before batch)
  • Credit Card: Refund Transactions Will allow the user to refund the full or partial charge

Now you will go back to your sub-categories, you will select Practice:

One you are inside the Practice area of Admin, you will see a Credit Card Tab. This is where the Set up will begin. First you will want to check the Enabled Box:

What this means is that you are enabling HENO to set up and use the credit card machine you are setting up:

Next, You will want to add you API Credentials in the Teal Drop-Down (Credentials will arrive in an encrypted email from CardConnect. Only enter the values inside the brackets { } and not the brackets themselves):

The next step would be to click on the Add Terminal Button on the right-hand side:

This is going to give you a pop-up for the initial set up.

  • Description Clinic description of the machine
  •  HSN - Hardware Serial Number provided by Cardpoint (this will be on the machine)
  • Location - Physical Location of the Credit Card Machine. In order for a location to be listed it must have a Merchant ID. (If not listed, please follow steps below)  
  • Advanced This will give you more options to chose from during set up (please see below on the options in the Advanced set up)

If you do not have a location set up with the Merchant ID, you will click on the Edit Location button next to the location drop-down. This is also how you can set up additional location terminals. A new screen will appear for you to add the Merchant ID to the Location. BE SURE TO CLICK THE SAVE BUTTON.

Once added, you can click the Close button.

Back on the main screen, you will see that the location has been added to the drop down for you to select from to add the machine:

Below the initial set up, you will have Advanced set-up options for this machine. If nothing is selected in this area during set up with will be default settings. They can be changed in the future if needed. These options will include:

  • Capture this will automatically select. It is the initial capture of the card
  • Beep Machine makes beeping sounds to prompt the customer to enter their information
  • Include Signature (Not available in HENO at this time)
  • Display Amount The machine will display the amount that is being charged
  • Include Pin The machine will require a pin to process the payment
  • Prompt for Zip - If checked will prompt the customer to enter their zip code. (Recommended)
  • Clear Display Delay - (Not available in HENO at this time)
  • Aid If this terminal is credit or debit
  •  UDF (two fields) (Not available in HENO at this time)

After all the setting you are wanting to have for the machine are set, you will click the create button in the lower left of the pop-up window. The window will close, you will get an Action Processed green bar at the top of the screen, and the machine will be added to the bottom area.
