Creating a slot type for Self Pay

In this article, you will learn how to create a slot type for all Self Pay patients and how you would check them out. This can be fitness or the PT services, but you will need a different slot type that has the Express Enabled in the slot.

The first thing you will want to do is set up a slot type for these patients. Go to Schedule >Slot Types > Create. 

• Purple Box
  • Put in the name of the slot (i.e. Wellness/Self-Pay).
  • Add Portal name (You must have the General Store Add-on).
  • Choose your background and font color.
• Green Box
  • Select the Enable express option.
• Pink Box (optional)
  • Select the Exclude from EMR option if you do not want this appointment to be available for EMR Documentation. 
• Orange Box
  • Click Create when finished.

Once you have that slot added, you can schedule the patient with this slot type. During the check in, you will get a different check in option. This will skip the check out screen where the CPT codes would have been entered. You may also collect self pay orders from this screen as well or at checkout.
